How it works

Six moves, start to finish.

  1. 1

    Fill the roster

Add the households in your community and the people in them — grown-ups, kids, and anyone they're bringing.

  2. 2

    Note what people prefer

Who's glad to host, who loves to cook, who's vegetarian, who can't do nuts. Said once, on the roster, and remembered ever after.

  3. 3

    Set up the dinner

Pick the night, the hour, guests per house, and the guest list.

  4. 4

    Let the tables be assigned

The app picks the cook homes at random from everyone who's up for it, then sends the rest out to dinner. Move any guest to any table.

  5. 5

Set a timer for the big reveal

At the minute you choose, everyone with a seat gets the same note: your table is set. They flip a card to find out whose kitchen they're in.

  6. 6

    Pass the baton

Make somebody else an organizer, and the next Dinner Day is theirs to arrange. That's how the ritual keeps going.

That's the whole thing. Shall we?

Bring a community together for one night, and let the dinner parties happen everywhere at once.
